Here We Go!
Welcome to campus! This is the third year writing for and introducing myself on Clark Diaries, so I’m going to try and keep it interesting.
I am a junior in college majoring in Global Environmental Studies and double minoring in International Development and Social Change and Innovation and Entrepreneurship. It takes up a lot of space on paper, but basically it can be summed up by being called “Saving the World”.
Last summer I traveled to Luxembourg and Kenya.
This summer I lived in Boston and worked for some start-up companies in the Innovation District…not as far distance-wise, but I had an amazing experience and learned so much!
A little about me, so you know where I am coming from when I write these posts.
I grew up in the New England suburbs and have the conviction that I was raised by the two greatest people. My parents are completely opposite, but because of that I was given a different skill set from each. Between my dad’s tireless work ethic and my mom’s dedication to volunteerism, I was raised to make a difference.
I collect inspirational quotes, love public speaking, and I could live at Panera (the founder graduated from Clark!). I believe that everyone has a story and I love to find out what that is.
I am extremely pedantic about grammar…so if you catch any typos, I am truly sorry. It will probably bother me more than you know.
I guess I could describe the way I think with a short anecdote:
I have a vivid memory of being eight years old at a Girl Scout meeting and being yelled at because I wasn’t doing the craft “correctly”. I had used the same items that everyone received to make something that wasn’t the “correct” end objective. I guess you could say, more than 10 years later, I am still doing that…but now I only get yelled at for doing it sometimes…
Enjoy…and feel free to send me any questions!
