The Murphy Clan

This past weekend the Murphy clan arrived at Clark University after nearly six hours of driving from New Jersey! I love my family. They are there for me through thick and thin, and I honestly did not realize how much I missed them until I saw them again. Our family weekend officially started Friday night with Big Prize Bingo. The prizes included theatre tickets, ipad mini, laptop bundle, Keurig, Apple TV, and more! My friend Dale even won a pair of beats.

On Saturday I gave my family a tour of Clark. It was fun to show-off my new home to them. Next we ventured to Natick Mall with the hopes of getting my laptop repaired. The mall was wonderful and had practically every store that I could possibly imagine. It is interesting to think that no matter where you are in the country, you can most likely expect to find the same exact stores selling the same exact things. After shopping for a couple of things to add to my fall wardrobe we headed back to Clark to get ready for dinner with my friends: Dale, Eunice, Laura, and Nicole. My friends are wonderful and I feel so lucky to have them in my life. They are the kind of people who would be there for me in the blink of an eye. I am so happy that Clark brought us together. On Saturday night we all went to Peppercorn’s with our families (cross that off the bucket list!). I ordered the lobster mac and cheese, and it was absolutely delicious. photoTo top the night off we crammed into our Volvo and headed off to Sweet where I tried the famous dosants. They were pretty good, similar to zeppoles. Personally I would not say that they are worth a half-hour wait and $9, but they were definitely worth a try. The rest of the evening was filled with cards and Disney music. Nicole’s sisters and Kristen slept over for the night in our dorm.

On Sunday I had originally planned to go to the bookstore but unfortunately I did not think to look ahead at the hours. The bookstore is closed on Sunday. Instead we played frisbee on the green, how typical. Playing frisbee reminded me of being home with my family playing touch football on our front lawn. All in all family weekend was great! I loved sharing my new home with my family. I am thrilled that they got to meet my friends and got a taste of my new life!

Frisbee Fun!
